Knowledge Organisers
Please take a look at our Knowledge Organisers to help you support your child at home with their learning! Each Knowledge Organiser is a bright and attractive page all about what your child will be learning each in topic
Our Knowledge Organisers outline the essential knowledge and skills that the teachers will be covering across a unit of work in the foundation subjects including dates, famous figures, vocabulary, timelines, maps and other important information. They are shared with pupils before units of work are taught with the aim that everyone knows exactly what is being taught, and the main aspects of learning.
Our Knowledge Organisers set out what we want children to retain by the end of a foundation topic. They will help the children to re-visit knowledge and help them to transfer knowledge from their short term to long term memory. We would love for the majority of children to be able to recall all of the ‘Key Facts’ on the Knowledge Organisers, as well as be able to discuss the skills that they have learnt within the context of each unit of work.
You may want to use the Knowledge Organisers as a basis for carrying out further research or as a stimulus for an arts and crafts activity at home. They may also act as a handy prompt for after asking the question, “What did you do at school today?”.
We hope you find these Knowledge Organisers useful in supporting your child at home!
Thank you for your support!
